Don’t get me wrong. I love my backpack. It’s cute, polka dotted and carries all of my ish to and from coffee shop to coffee shop. Butttttt….it kinda doesn’t match anything I own. And it makes me look like I haven’t been adulting for the past five years, but rather that I’m still in the secure womb of college.
You get my point. It’s time to get a new bag.
If you’re in the market for a new work purse/bag/tote, consider this my gift. There are zillion different places to look, and I get overwhelmed by all of the options. So, you’re welcome, I just made your life so much easier.
None of these companies sponsored this post, all of these products are sustainably made and at the end I want you to vote for which one I should get!
Alright, let’s get after it!
MATT & NAT
Well, I’m obviously in love with this color. And the price. It’s got a bit more of a professional vibe than an artsy fartsy one. I feel like my corporate friends would love this the most.
The cool thing about this brand is that they are committed to experimenting with recyclable materials that don’t involve the harm of animals. Actually, all of their linings are made 100% out of recycled bottles! Too cool.
So, do we have a winner?
First of all, I’m absolutely obsessed with this brand. Their motto is, “Beautiful products by women who have overcome.” Cue the tears. They also are a huge proponent of creating opportunities so people in impoverished countries can provide for themselves. I could go on about this FOR DAYS.
I’m also such a huge fan of their new dusty rose color, and you can even personalize the leather. Trendy, big and perfect for lugging everything around. Is it the winner?
This puppy is made in Ethiopia and has a beautiful finish to it. I love how sturdy the straps look, because Lord knows I carry my whole life in my bag. They also have a compartment inside to keep things organized – something I am (to everyone’s surprise) not good at. The only issue I see with the bag is you have to pre-order it!
This company formed because of a couple’s experience adopting a child in Ethiopia. They saw such beauty in the culture and wanted to help vulnerable women break the cycle of poverty. INTO IT. What do we think? Worth the wait?
Slate & Salt
All my hipsters unite. It’s a tote! On your back! But really, this bag is super cute, provides full back support and is also….sustainably made. I’m a fan of the dark brown color.
This company employs over 80 artisans in Kenya! Plus, 10% of all of their purchases goes directly to A Voice is Heard to support sustainable community development projects within the country. You should also check out their Chila bags – SO colorful!
Do we think I’m hipster enough for this?
AH! I’d love to hear your thoughts below? Which one of these is your favorite?
