This book is an easy read, rich with stories and gives actionable steps to get your side hustle started. Chris Guillebeau shows us that it doesn’t take a ton of money to start your side hustle – just a bit of grit, patience and a solid idea.
This is the ultimate book on starting a side hustle and was critical to me starting mine. I got major inspiration from the entrepreneurs he featured and I know you will too! The author also has a pretty fantastic podcast that I would check out as well: Side Hustle School
Oh my goodness. SO MUCH JUICY INFORMATION in this podcast and blog. I started listening to this podcast in the dungeons of the NYC subway system. I religiously listened to his podcasts for years and checked his blog obsessively for inspiration about average people like you and me making money outside the 9-to-5. If you need a new podcast to listen to on the way to work, I would absolutely check this one out. The host gives a wide variety of side hustles air time, which I love. This is one of my favorite articles he’s written.
She was the first female entrepreneur I encountered that actually knew her stuff, was motivational and provided a community of fellow “B school believers”. If you have some extra change laying around and want someone to take you step-by-step through the process of launching your hustle, I would highly recommend her school. I myself took the course and found it worth every penny. She also has a ton of free resources, including her award-winning MarieTV. She’s also a life coach, so be prepared for some inspiration!
Honestly. This guy is kind of a jerk. But people seem to love him. If you can take his attitude out of the equation, he really has some great info. He has some amazing products that I have not tried out myself, but the results and testimonials speak for themselves. I hate getting newsletters anymore, but I read every single one he sends out. He has experience building a successful company himself, so you can trust him when he tells you he knows what he’s talking about. Plus his free resources are so helpful!
Along the same lines as Side Hustle Nation, I used to listen to this podcast religiously. John Lee Dumas, the creator of this podcast has done an amazing job of creating a WEALTH (I mean WEALTH) of podcasts around entrepreneurs making it happen. If you want to be inspired for days, give his podcast a listen. There is a mix of famous entrepreneurs AND average people like you and me. Love it! His website is also fabulous with a ton of online courses to purchase to further your side hustle education.
I LOVE THIS SITE. These women are my new obsession. Their content is on point. They have spunk and personality. AND they have a nice mix of articles, podcasts, courses and free resources. If you are starting out, you should 1000% check out their site. A lot of what I’ve learned in the past year and resources I’ve used have come from these two women. Their material is jam-packed with actionable advice. Plus, they’re building a tribe of other #ladybosses and y’all know I love a good community. Not to mention, they feature a wide selection of experts in their advice – I actually found my accountant through this site!
