I'm here to make sure you become irresistible to recruiters and hiring managers. In an extremely competitive marketplace, I can show you how to take back control of the job search, become a stand-out candidate and ultimately land you your dream career. Oh, and I promise to make the process fun. Yes, fun.

I'm Jena

You’re not quite sure you’re ready to make the investment.  You’d probably rather be spending your hard earned money on drinks with friends, that West Elm rug or a trip to Iceland (because it’s all the rage, apparently).

But if you’re being really honest with yourself, you need some help.

You’ve been stuck at this job that you hate in this industry you’re not even sure you want to be a part of (cue you folks in Finance). You’re frustrated because the process of finding a new job looks daunting and stressful, yet you know you need a change. You’re starting to realize that your unhappiness in your career is actually spilling over into every. other. area. of your life.  Oops.

If contentment isn’t incentive enough to hire a Career Coach, read on for 5 other reasons.

1. You need to stop procrastinating

You have every intention of setting aside the time, you really do.  But after a long day at work, that last thing you want to be doing is working on your resume, cleaning up your LinkedIn profile and practicing interview questions.  You’d rather listen to Kanye’s painful VMA acceptance speech again.  But by hiring a career coach, you are intentionally setting aside time to work on moving you one step closer to your dream job.  Though they can’t guarantee to find you a job, he or she will nudge you in the right direction, give you the motivation you need and kill that procrastination once and for all.

2. You don’t know what you want to do

Maybe you have been in the same job since you graduated college and you’ve realized it probably isn’t what you want to be doing.  But, what do you want to do? You know what you don’t want to do, but figuring out where interests, strengths and job titles align is really challenging.  A career coach is going to be able to help you uncover those strengths, give you the tools you need to discern an appropriate path and ask the right questions to get you thinking.

3. You have no clue where to start

Okay, so maybe you know exactly what you want to be doing. But now, how do you get there? There is so much information out there that you are overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.  Just like you need a trainer when starting a new fitness/nutrition routine, you need a career coach to help you sift through all the noise to set you on the right path.  Coaches have the personal experience, success and knowledge to make the process, dare I say – fun?!

4. You want to make more money

People who are happier in their jobs are usually good at their jobs.  People who are good at their jobs usually get promoted.  People who get promoted usually get a pay raise.  People who get pay raises tend to be even happier in their careers – and the cycle continues.  Have a coach help you figure out the intersection between your strengths and passions that will lead you towards promotions and your financial goals (think more drinks, West Elm rugs and trips to Iceland!).

5.  You need a confidence boost

Sometimes you just need someone telling you that everything is going to be alright.  Often times we are our own worst enemies – we speak such negative things to ourselves that we muddy what is truth and what are lies.  Career coaches are there to help you uncover your insecurities, show you how to conquer them and give you the confidence booster shot you need.  They are meant to be with you every step of the way, helping you overcome your biggest obstacle: You.

What do you say, let’s get together over a glass of Virtual Vino and end that perpetuation of procrastination.
